Documents we translate from Chinese
出生公证书 / 出生医学证明 — notarial birth certificate and medical birth certificate
Mainland China issues the notarial booklet with a Chinese and an English page; we translate the Chinese page and certify both when the notary’s English differs.
户口本 — household register (hukou)
The family page plus each person’s page, with all amendments and police seals; often required for I-130 cases.
结婚证 / 离婚证 — marriage and divorce certificates
Red booklets and notarial copies; registration number and issuing bureau are preserved.
毕业证 / 学位证 / 成绩单 — diploma, degree certificate, transcript
Both the graduation certificate and the degree certificate are needed for WES and universities; transcripts with credit hours.
无犯罪记录证明 — police clearance
Certificates issued by the Public Security Bureau, with or without notarization.
银行流水 / 存款证明 — bank statements and deposit certificates
For student and visitor visas; figures and dates are checked line by line.
营业执照, 合同 — business licence and contracts
For E-2, L-1 and company registration matters.
身份证, 护照, 台湾 / 香港 documents
ID cards, Taiwan household certificates (戶籍謄本) and Hong Kong birth certificates in Traditional characters.
What is different about Chinese documents
Names follow your passport: pinyin for mainland passports (ZHANG Wei, family name first on the certificate with a note), Wade-Giles or Hong Kong romanization where that is what the passport uses. Given names are not split or hyphenated unless the passport does so.
Dates in the 年月日 format are converted to the US month-day-year format; lunar-calendar dates on older documents are kept with a note. Chinese numerals, including formal 壹贰叁 on financial documents, are checked against the Arabic figures.
Seals are the legal signature in China: every red seal is described with the full issuing authority — [red seal: Public Security Bureau of Shanghai Municipality, Household Registration]. Document numbers, Simplified or Traditional characters and the issuing office appear exactly as printed.
Standard institutional names are used so officers recognise them: 公安局 → “Public Security Bureau”, 公证处 → “Notary Public Office”, 民政局 → “Civil Affairs Bureau”, 教育部 → “Ministry of Education”.

Chinese Translation FAQ
My notarial certificate already has an English page — do I still need a translation?
Usually yes. The notary’s English is often incomplete or not certified in the US form; USCIS officers frequently request a certified translation of the Chinese page. We certify the full document.
Simplified or Traditional — does it matter?
No. We translate both, including Taiwan and Hong Kong documents, at the same price.
How do you count pages for a hukou?
Each printed page with text is one page (up to 250 words). A family page and two personal pages are three pages.
Will my name match my passport?
Yes. Send the passport spelling with your order; it is used on every page and on the certificate.
Can you translate scans sent from China via WeChat?
Yes, as JPG or PDF, as long as every character and seal is legible.
